III: The Deranged Writer’s Instagram

This morning, I tried to do something different for The Diary: finish a draft before working hours. But because I’m normally a night owl and I need caffeine to function properly in the morning, I stayed away from my blog for a bit, had breakfast, drank coffee, and then did my usual clerical work. And I also joined Father on his survey in Laguna.

And while we were on the way to the job site, I scrolled through my blog. And then I found a great topic for today’s post, thanks to the nine latest Instagram posts shown on my blog’s sidebar.

Well, then. Now I’m back from Laguna, let me tell you about my Instagram account/feed!

Notes to Self III

Last February 6, 2023, I promised myself to start blogging more often again. I started by launching a blogging series called Notes to Self (where I remind myself of a relevant quote from any form of media or someone I know.)

Today I’m celebrating my 1st monthsary of frequent blogging here on The Dispatch. I’m so proud of myself because it has been so long since I followed a blogging schedule successfully. (I think the last time I religiously blogged, Tumblr was in its 1st or 2nd year of existence.) And I’m not planning on stopping soon.

Anyway, let me celebrate my 1st blogging monthsary with the 3rd edition of Notes to Self, the very 1st blogging series I launched here on The Dispatch. And in this episode, I want to quote one of my favorite lines from the longest-running sci-fi series in the world, Doctor Who.

Spoiler warning if you have not seen the Doctor Who Series 5 episode “Vincent and The Doctor”.

I: One More Start

So, here I am again, resetting my blog The Diary. I lost count of how many times I reset my blog for my mental health, published a few posts, and then lost my way. Why do I keep on failing to update my blog frequently?

After reflecting, here are my reasons:

  1. I have too many grand plans for the blog but lack execution.
  2. I can’t even make time for blogging, but I can make time for everything else. (I do write on my Moleskine planner/journal more often. Sorry, Diary.)
  3. I’m scared that I will make a mistake in my posts.
  4. I try too much to write lengthy posts.

So, now that I’m resetting my blog, what should I do this time? This time:

  1. I will have simple, more achievable plans for the blog and truly execute those plans.
  2. I will dedicate at least 1 hour to blogging daily on my laptop or phone. But I will only publish posts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
  3. I will rely on apps like Grammarly to avoid typos. But if I still miss out on mistakes, those mistakes will serve as lessons for me. And besides, it’s my blog, my mistakes.
  4. I will take it easy and write short yet more personal posts. And when I can truly write a lengthy post, I will do it.

Now that I know how to do better, here’s to one more start – a better start.

Hi. I’m The Deranged Writer and welcome to The Diary.
