Gratitude Log I

Today, I’d like to thank my uncle for bringing me to work. It rained for a bit, but it did not affect the metro traffic. In fact, it was a really smooth 40-minute ride that I was able to take a 5 or 6 minute nap.

Today, I’d like to thank the office janitor for opening the air-con unit even if I arrived an hour early. Like I said, it rained for a bit. It was also a bit windy. But the summer heat ruled over, which is (for a lack of a better word) unbearable. Therefore the ventilation is quite comforting.

Today, I’d like to thank my friend Greta for giving some trinkets from her Japan trip. One of the things she gave is a small piece of Matcha-flavored Kit-Kat, a favorite of mine. “Matcha-rap.” (A pun of masarap [delicious in Filipino].)

And today, I’d like to thank all the deities and the universe for giving me another chance to live. Yes, I may have done something stupid to myself a few months ago. But now I would like at least try to live every single day, one step at a time, just like Chris Cornell of Soundgarden said.

I

Whatever happened that lead to my confinement at the hospital for almost 2 weeks, there is a bright side to it: I was on a writing spree; my brain was continuously flowing all the prose and poetry, whether it’s long or short, and whether it’s about professional wrestling or something personal.

I have never been this active since 2009, and I have been riding the Internet as a pseudo-anonymous writer for 11 years. And I am glad I am still allowed to use a laptop and phone to communicate with my friends and family and, of course, blog the hell out.

And now that I am back at my home, the first thing I did was open the laptop and then my Q10 writing app. I wrote a few outlines about what happened at WrestleMania 35 and the Raw show after that, then took a water break, and went back in front of the screen. And that’s what I only did after that: staring at the screen, the cursor blinking, waiting for me to type the next word.

5 Minute Warning XX

Reading Time: 1 minute, 2 seconds

Welcome to the 20th edition of Minute Warnings, where I write anything with or without errors under time pressure.

In this case, I wrote this under 5 minutes.

So, what happened today?

I had a hard time sleeping this morning. That recurring dream about being ignored and someone I’m fond of has been eating me up day and night. It bothers me so much that I woke up way too early for WWE’s WrestleMania pre-show.

I’m not complaining about being on time for something I like. But it’s like I’m also pre-occupying my mind from the nightmare by watching good ol ‘rasslin. I mean, come on. What should I really be doing? Should I just enjoy humans grappling one another or get rid of the goddamned dream?

Anyway, WrestleMania was really enjoyable. It had 16 matches on the card, which is so long… but the good thing is that a lot of wrestlers I picked on the first Fast Forecast won! Kofi Kingston became the first black WWE Champion with no asterisks, Seth Rollins became the Beast Slayer when he pinned Brock Lesnar 1-2-3 for the Universal Championship, and Becky Lynch became a double Women’s champion in the first-ever women’s main event of the spectacle. That is amazing. Just amazing.

What the fuck am I doing? I’m on my medication while writing this one. I hope I don’t have any errors here or something. Blah, blah, oh well, whatever nevermind. Ω
