30-Minute Warning XXX

An update on my mental health: After finishing work tasks early, getting rest, remembering my long-term and short-term plans, and starting Season 4 of my favorite show Person of Interest, I feel better now. If I do get anxious or depressed, I can handle it better.

However, as for my physical health, I feel a bit weak and my throat is so itchy. I drank my medicine already so my itchy throat does not become a full-on cough or (worse) a cold. I’m worried that I may skip my weekly affogato fix at my favorite spot if I don’t feel physically better this coming weekend.

What else? Oh… I mentioned that I’m now on Season 4 of Person of Interest. This is the show’s 2nd to the last season, and I’m sad knowing the end is almost near. But I can always turn that sadness around by re-watching Person of Interest again or watching another favorite series like Chuck or How I Met Your Mother.

Moving on, what are my plans that will keep me going? I can tell 1 plan: watching the upcoming R-rated superhero movie Deadpool & Wolverine with my brothers and cousins. I’m excited to see 2 of my favorite Marvel characters team up on the big screen! Deadpool & Wolverine, in Philippine cinemas July 24, 2024.

And… that’s about it for now. Happy hump day!

Song of the Moment XXIII: Jim Johnston’s “The Undertaker (Original Piano Demo)”

In the previous Song of the Moment post, I shared what was on my on-repeat: “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars. Today, I have been listening to the piano demo of the theme song of my all-time favorite pro wrestler, The Undertaker. Jim Johnston, the longest-serving composer for WWE, made the piano demo.

Whenever I’m in a depressive state and I don’t want to bounce back yet, I listen to said piano demo multiple times and dwell in the darkness. And what a beautiful yet haunting piano piece, it is. It is both comforting and saddening whenever I hear it.

Well done, Mr. Johnston. All the theme songs he created for wrestlers like Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and The Undertaker are so legendary that Johnston should have been in the WWE Hall of Fame years ago. I hope he gets inducted into said hall of fame next year.

Anyway, if you’re wondering how I am… I’m not fine. I’m not fine since Saturday afternoon.

I need a drink. But that would ruin my rule of “drinking only on weekends”. So, no. I will not drink now. I will try not to. Fingers crossed.
