30-Minute Warning XXI

So, what can I tell here under 30 minutes?

Well, once again I forgot to blog yesterday – another Wednesday. Let me explain what happened…

I have been feeling down since April 13, but yesterday I had to set my sadness aside so I can make my Elder Brother’s birthday a happy one.

Yesterday afternoon, my cousin and I went to the mall and bought some cheesecake milk tea and a chocolate cake and then surprised my Elder Brother at the condo. For a moment, my brother was happy, but then we felt that he was having the birthday blues. So we let him be.

And then at 10pm, while we were at home, Leon pitched a great idea through text: surprise Elder Brother at a bar in BGC. So the entire family (minus Father) dressed up right away and then we all went to the bar and… surprise! We successfully surprised him, and this time his smile was beaming! Mission accomplished!

After the surprise, we had a few drinks (a Rum Coke for me and mojitos, margaritas, sangrias, and a Coke Zero for everyone else), and we capped off the lovely evening with our individual birthday wishes for Elder Brother. What a lovely night. And because my brother is happy, everyone is happy, I’m starting to be happy again… not entirely, but I’m getting there now slowly and surely.

Happiest birthday, my Elder Brother! The entire family loves you so much, and we wish you all the best in life!

In other news, our family’s Japan trip is confirmed. Our trip will be from June 10 to 14. Now that is another thing to be happy about. I’m stoked and I need to prepare my clothes and other things I will need for the trip!

And time’s up.

10-Minute Warning LXXXVI

So, what can I share under 10 minutes?

As I said in the previous post, I’m depressed and I’m feeling the birthday blues. Whenever I’m depressed, it’s either (1) I dwell in the darkness or (2) I distract myself so I can feel at least a bit better. Today, I did option number 2.

So, what did I do today to distract myself? I took a longer, colder bath to be more awake without drinking caffeine. I had a healthy plate of pineapple chicken for brunch. I went to church with my Mother and cousin Risa. After hearing Mass, I dropped by Paskomiket and bought a Dave Ghorl sticker (not a typo) from one of my favorite Filipino comic book artists Mr. Toto Madayag (creator of Libreng Komiks). I also had a small but fun conversation with Mr. Madayag. After that, I had some snacks at Pound with my Mother, cousin Risa, Uncle Don, Aunt Grace, and their daughter Sofi. And finally, Elder Brother bought me and Risa some Oreo cheesecake milk tea.

Now that today is ending as I’m typing this, how am I now? Thanks to my church time, the Dave Ghorl sticker, my chat with Mr. Madayag, our small family snack time, and Elder Brother’s milk tea treat, I feel a bit better. It’s not the “much better” feeling I should be having before my birthday, but at least I’m getting there.

And oh! One of my friends whom I invited to my birthday party just replied. She’s available on my birthday. I’m so happy! Yes!

30-Minute Warning VI

So, what can I share here today under 30 minutes?

As I type this, it’s 20 minutes before the world premiere of the live-action series Voltes V: Legacy. I already saw the theatrical release a few weeks ago with Younger Brother and our cousins, and I like what I have seen so far. I’m excited to watch the series using the living room’s enormous Samsung smart TV.

Voltes V: Legacy premieres tonight, May 8, at 8pm (Philippine time) on GMA 7.

As of what happened at work today, I only have 1 simple but crucial task: review a part of a contract. I admit that I got a bit anxious because I have never reviewed a contract in my life, but I drank my coffee, took a few breaths, and worked on it. I was able to finish the entire worksheet before the afternoon. And I rewarded myself with a large cup of cookies & cream frappe with pearls, and I also bought a large Oreo milk tea for Mother. Thanks, Infinitea!

(The header image was an old one. I took the photo last April 2.)

And now I bought something for myself already, I need to avoid spending more than PHP 500 this week. I will buy an affogato or an iced tea at Satchmi, but that’s it. If I’m planning to buy that Bullet Club jacket from Pro Wrestling Tees (among the few things I want to buy) before May 17, I need to be careful about spending too much.

I know, I know. Buying the Bullet Club jacket is already spending too much. I need to save more. But… but… the jacket looks so badass. I really want it. Forgive me.

And time’s up.
