The Undertaker (real name Mark Calaway) is an American professional wrestler who was the longest-serving talent in WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), and is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. Throughout his legendary career, he has won multiple world championships and has faced many iconic rivals from Mankind (Mick Foley), Stone Cold Steve Austin, and The Rock, to John Cena, Batista, and CM Punk. He also owns the record of having the longest undefeated streak at WWE’s flagship event, WrestleMania—21 straight wins.
Along with Dave Grohl, The Undertaker is The Deranged Writer’s personal hero.
Let me just say this: I like Finn Bálor’s current WWE theme, “I Am Danger”, but it will never beat “Catch Your Breath” (both the original and remix versions). It’s my 2nd favorite pro wrestling theme song next to Undertaker’s (all versions) because, in my opinion, the exquisite orchestral rock fits Finn Bálor’s character and his alter ego “The Demon”. And strangely, it’s also 1 of the 3 songs I listen to when I start feeling happy. (Learn the other 2 on this post.)
I miss hearing “Catch Your Breath” on WWE TV. I hope “The Demon” Finn Bálor returns someday with it.

In the previous Song of the Moment post, I shared what was on my on-repeat: “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars. Today, I have been listening to the piano demo of the theme song of my all-time favorite pro wrestler, The Undertaker. Jim Johnston, the longest-serving composer for WWE, made the piano demo.
Whenever I’m in a depressive state and I don’t want to bounce back yet, I listen to said piano demo multiple times and dwell in the darkness. And what a beautiful yet haunting piano piece, it is. It is both comforting and saddening whenever I hear it.
Well done, Mr. Johnston. All the theme songs he created for wrestlers like Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and The Undertaker are so legendary that Johnston should have been in the WWE Hall of Fame years ago. I hope he gets inducted into said hall of fame next year.
Anyway, if you’re wondering how I am… I’m not fine. I’m not fine since Saturday afternoon.

I need a drink. But that would ruin my rule of “drinking only on weekends”. So, no. I will not drink now. I will try not to. Fingers crossed.
I’m supposed to run errands today, but they were rescheduled for tomorrow. Thank goodness for avoiding errands at least today because today’s temperature outside is 35°C. 35-fucking-degrees-celsius. It feels hotter than that though, but good grief.
After writing that, I’m dreading tomorrow, and tomorrow’s weather could be worse. I must endure the heat while I run errands. (Yes, I will bring my umbrella when I walk on the street. But what if I go to an establishment with A/C problems? I must expect the worst.)
And I can imagine Kane (kayfabe half-brother of The Undertaker) making the temperature worse when he walks through the entire city and flames burst from concrete. That is why my current Song of the Moment is “Slow Chemical” by Finger Eleven, one of Kane’s theme songs.
Official visualizer of Finger Eleven’s “Slow Chemical”.
Happy humid Monday. And no, I’m not in the mood to write an April Fools’ Day post today. Maybe next year.
