Song of the Moment LIX: Limp Bizkit’s “Build a Bridge”

This post is a part of 14 Days of The Deranged Writer (2024).

After running errands around Ortigas for almost the whole day, I went to my favorite cafe Satchmi, ordered my favorite affogato, and updated my trusty journal/planner. I felt so much better after that, and now I’m excited (and a bit nervous) for my birthday tomorrow. Thank you, Satchmi. I might drop by there again tomorrow.

While I was drinking my affogato and writing, I also listened to music on Spotify for 30 minutes before my wireless earphones ran out of power. I was listening to Jewel’s “Intuition”, Hanson’s “I Will Come to You”, and then Limp Bizkit’s “Build a Bridge”. The latter is my favorite Limp Bizkit song because it sounds so different from their signature nu metal sound and the longing, determined lyrics (especially the chorus) moved me. “Build a Bridge” also reminded me of WWE Survivor Series (2003), one of the best Survivor Series events (in my opinion) and the end of American Badass/Big Evil Undertaker.

Even though it’s gonna crumble down (Gonna crumble down)
I’ll keep buildin’ till you come around (Till you come around)
Even though it’s gonna fall apart and break my heart (Break my heart)
I’ll keep buildin’ till I die

Limp Bizkit’s “Build a Bridge”

After listening to “Build a Bridge”, I decided to listen to a few more WWE-related songs like one of WrestleMania 21’s theme songs, 3 Doors Down’s “Behind Those Eyes”, and two of WrestleMania 23’s theme songs, Saliva’s “Ladies and Gentlemen” and Default’s “The Memory Will Never Die”… and then my earphones ran out of power. Oh, well. At least I’m happy now.

And tonight, I will give “Build a Bridge” another listen. Maybe three more or four.

1 day before my birthday… I mean, less 30 minutes to go before my birthday. Hell yes! See you tomorrow!

30-Minute Warning XXXIV

So, what can I tell here in under 30 minutes?

Since November 2024 started, I have been feeling better slowly. It must be because I started walking and jogging again on Three Trees. I already walked and jogged thrice in the past several days, which is a huge progress for me. It feels so good to sweat it out, and I will do my best to keep exercising through the holidays and beyond. (Even if I expect a lot of feasts this coming December. Fingers crossed.)

I also feel better lately because of productivity at work. Specifically, I worked on many proposals and billings without complaining, and I finished them before the first week of November ended. After almost 2 years of working in the family business, I can say that I finally got the hang of it. I’m glad I’m settled in at work and I’m helping out my Mother, Father and Younger Brother in many ways.

That being said, my clerical job’s salary sucks. Yes, at least I’m getting paid, but if I need earn more money, I can’t depend on a single form of income. I need to find another job. I need to find a part-time job that I can juggle with my current one so I can save more money and somehow spoil myself and my loved ones. Maybe it’s time to practice again a forte of mine, which is web and graphic design. Wish me luck.

Anyway, back to feeling better. I have many so reasons for feeling so, which is great. But… I will save those reasons (and stories) for a future post because my 30 minutes is almost up. In the meantime, I’m celebrating the start of my weekend with my favorite Jack and Coke Zero.

Oh, wait. Quickly, I will share another simple reason for me to feel better: Deadpool & Wolverine is coming to Disney+ this November 12. Fuck yeah!

Happy weekend, everyone!

Song of the Moment XLV: Catch Your Breath (Finn Bálor’s Theme Song)

Let me just say this: I like Finn Bálor’s current WWE theme, “I Am Danger”, but it will never beat “Catch Your Breath” (both the original and remix versions). It’s my 2nd favorite pro wrestling theme song next to Undertaker’s (all versions) because, in my opinion, the exquisite orchestral rock fits Finn Bálor’s character and his alter ego “The Demon”. And strangely, it’s also 1 of the 3 songs I listen to when I start feeling happy. (Learn the other 2 on this post.)

I miss hearing “Catch Your Breath” on WWE TV. I hope “The Demon” Finn Bálor returns someday with it.

The original version of “Catch Your Breath”, Finn Bálor’s theme song.

That is all. Happy Monday!
