30-Minute Warning XL

It’s been a while since I had a 30-Minute Warning post, and I’m already drunk from an upgraded version of The Devil’s Cup, The Devil’s Float. And I quote “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, “What do you wanna talk about?”

Firstly, I want to talk about my recent trips to Oversight. For the past few weeks, I ordered my beloved affogato plus a different drink. I drank their house blend iced tea (my second go-to drink) and their iced chocolate, and both are refreshingly sweet. I might order the iced chocolate more often if I need a break from their caffeinated drinks.

I also tried their seasonal drinks (if I may call it that), a raspberry mocha latte and a sakura matcha. Both piqued my curiosity, so I tried them. (Not all in one night though.) The raspberry mocha latte is… let’s just say, interesting. (Sorry, I’m terrible at describing my food and drink experiences down to the tiniest detail. I should work on that.) Anyway, as for the sakura matcha, I’m not much of a matcha drinker, but… imagine a transparent cup with matcha on top and a sakura pink liquid below. Lovely, right? And the greater thing is that it tastes just as lovely. I applaud the barista who made this!

Speaking of pink, after so many visits to the nearest Converse store, I saw a pair of pink Chuck Taylors, and they’re also on sale! Yes, I know, I’m a man who covers himself in monochrome, and I also mentioned in the post “XVII: The Deranged Writers’ Favorite Outfits of The Undertaker” (my most-viewed Diary post so far), that “I love a pop of color on any dominantly dark or light design”. There’s nothing wrong with color in my life every once in a while, and I also need to update my wardrobe. Also, I collected Chuck Taylors before, but now the only Chuck Taylor pair I have is all black (which I adore). I want a new pair.

Crap, my 30 minutes are almost up, and I want to enjoy The Devil’s Float more, so I’m ending this post now. See you in the next post, and have a nice weekend, everyone!

10-Minute Warning CLXXXIII

What can I tell here in under 10 minutes?

I have some good news: I can preserve my sole bottle of Jack Daniel’s whiskey for several weeks, and I can just buy my weekly Coke Zero (for my family, not for me). Why? Last Monday, my Mother, Father, and a cousin bought 2 4-packs of premixed Jack & Coke. That’s one Devil’s Cup per week in the next 2 months. Hell yes!

Yeah, they didn’t buy the right drink (Jack & Coke Zero), but come on… it’s still a Jack & Coke. And The Devil’s Cup will have more bite in the next several weeks. That’s still a win for me!

What else? Well, every year, I binge-watch my favorite series of all time, the sci-fi crime thriller/drama Person of Interest, and I have been on another POI marathon since July 12. Today I just finished an episode from Season 2, “C.O.D.”. I might watch another episode before I go out tonight.

And maybe I should start a new blog series where I discuss each Person of Interest episode?

Anyway, my 10 minutes are up. See you in the next post.

10-Minute Warning CLXXXII

All right. Before I do my Monday night ritual, what can I share here under 10 minutes?

After following a seven-to-eight-hour sleep schedule for the past few weeks, I slept at 11pm, and then I woke up at 9am. That’s a few hours later than I wanted to.

But I have to say: it was the most satisfying ten-hour sleep since my therapist, Dr. M, prescribed me to sleep that long. That’s in 2019.

I quote my therapist, Dr. M, “Sleep is medicine.” She’s right. Yes, I have been sleeping seven to eight hours lately (sometimes I go for six, which is not recommended) because I want a few extra hours for activities like work, writing, enjoying my other hobbies, and spending time with my loved ones. But last night, I fell asleep after watching Person of Interest’s Season 1 episode “Witness” (I’m doing my annual Person of Interest marathon again), my body did a forced maintenance without warning, and I didn’t wake up to my alarms. And when I woke up, I was so energized, and I did so just in time for work. Thank goodness for that beauty sleep, and for being able to do work from home.

Moving forward, I will sleep for seven to eight hours usually, but I will sleep for ten hours whenever I can.

And oh… how was work today? I have never been this productive at work in weeks. Sleep is medicine indeed.

Anyway, my 10 minutes are not up yet, but I’m going to end it here to prepare for my Monday ritual. See you in the next post, and have a nice week ahead!
