Professional wrestling (pro wrestling or wrestling for short) is a form of physical live theater with wrestlers as the performers and the ring (or any place that can be converted into a place of battle) as the stage. The match outcome is predetermined, the moves are choreographed, yet the performers’ pain is real.
The Deranged Writer grew up watching professional wrestling; particularly WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). Through the years, he has a love/hate relationship with it, but it will always have a special place in his heart.
It has been a long time since I wrote a blog post that is not written under 10, 30, or even 60 minutes, so I will make the most out of this. Buckle up because this is going to be a long post.
For some strange reason, the 1st thing I do when I feel happy is listen to a favorite song. It’s either “The Pretender” by Foo Fighters (my favorite song of all time), Finn Bálor’s 1st theme song (I love this song over his current one), or “Cult of Personality” by Living Colour (an excellent hard rock song and CM Punk’s theme song). Today, I’m listening to the latter on repeat. Again.
(This is the 2nd time “Cult of Personality” is my Song of the Moment. You can check out the 1st post here.)
The music video of Living Colour’s “Cult of Personality”.
I hope this happy mood lasts for long. And speaking of CM Punk, his rivalry against Drew McIntyre is one of the most exciting storylines in WWE recently, and they have not fought in a match yet. I’m looking forward to their inevitable bout.
Happy week ahead, everyone!
