10-Minute Warning CXCVI

So, what should I write about in my first Minute Warning post of 2026?

Firstly, yesterday, I worked overtime until 2am. That’s my first overtime of the year. In my current job as an administrative assistant, the first week of the month is usually the busiest. This 2026, I would like to work more efficiently so my family business can grow (most especially, financially). If that means burning the midnight oil to finish crucial tasks, I will gladly do it, and that’s what I accomplished yesterday.

Secondly, this 2026, I need to fix my sleep schedule again. Frankly speaking, recently, I have been waking up later than I want to. Yes, I woke up later today again, and I have a perfect excuse for that: I worked overtime. However, I need to go back to waking up at 8am, whether I have an early workload or not. I also have a perfect excuse to wake up early on Tuesday mornings, which is the livestream of WWE Raw on Netflix Philippines every Tuesday, 9am. The morning Raw viewing is so important that it’s already written in my planner for the next several weeks.

My ten minutes are almost up, but I have to go. See you in the next post.

10-Minute Warning CXCV

It’s been a while since I wrote a Minute Warning post. What can I share here in under ten minutes?

After an eventful few days (e.g., completing all nine Simbang Gabi Masses, my family’s first Noche Buena in years), my body is waving the white flag today. However, I have work to do, which includes running an errand. So, I took it easy and walked it instead. My throat was itchy earlier, but after having The Angel’s Cup (hot honey/citron/ginger tea), now it’s fine.

I’m pretty excited for tomorrow’s reunion with my Mother’s relatives because I haven’t seen all of them together in one night in years. Maybe I’ll bring some pizza and a bottle of Jack & Daniel’s whiskey and Coke Zeros, so my relatives will have the option of having either the whiskey or the soft drink, or I can just mix Devil’s Cups for them. I could buy some pre-mixed cans, but they taste sweeter, and I’m not sure if my relatives will like that. I believe that my mixing of The Devil’s Cup is the better option because it tastes like an equal amount of both Jack Daniel’s whiskey and Coke Zero. Plus, mixing the drink myself adds a personal touch.

What else? Well, I learned last night that the Netflix hit series Stranger Things will be involved in the first WWE Raw of 2026. That’s the strangest collaboration ever. I love it! Will the cast be there? Who knows? I’m excited to see the first Raw to be broadcast on Netflix Philippines! (That’s January 6, 2025, at 9am, Philippine Standard Time.)

I still have a few minutes left, but crap. I need to run a surprise errand and then get a fresh haircut. My hair looks weird now. See you in the next post… probably tomorrow.

10-Minute Warning CLXXVIII

OK. What should I share here in under 10 minutes?

Today at work, I had only a few tasks, and I finished them with ease. It has been weeks since the last time I only had a handful of workload, and I’m relieved.

So, work’s over, my parents ran many errands, and I’m all alone in the house. What should I do?

Then the sadness started to sink in. I can feel this is the kind of melancholy that I experienced almost a month ago—alone in the house, with my thoughts, and with or without my favorite Jack & Coke Zero. And usually, when I feel this kind of sadness, I would just dwell on it but I would also not do anything rash.

But today, I did not feel like drifting in the darkness for long. Instead, I watched a few films on Netflix: Back in Action (a spy action comedy film starring Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz) and all of two Extraction films (starring Chris Hemsworth as mercenary Tyler Rake.) The impromptu movie marathon (plus the sirens I heard that reminded me of the greatest mathematician of all time, Scott Steiner) distracted me from the sadness.

In other news: I’m really tempted to have my favorite Jack & Coke Zero tonight, but I need to resist. Drinking said drink is my Friday night ritual, and I don’t want to ruin that. Not tonight at least.

…and my time’s almost up. See you in the next post.
