Notes to Self VIII

Recently, whenever my parents/bosses didn’t have a task for me, I did a few job interviews. And not one employer gave a job offer; not even an entry-level one. I thought all the rejections I have taken since the COVID-19 pandemic had toughened me up, but it still breaks my heart whenever a potential employer doesn’t take a chance on me. I truly feel like giving up on hunting for a web/graphic design job and just focusing on the clerical work that I have now.

Then recently, while I was binge-watching the American crime mystery/dramedy series Castle, I heard a quote from Richard Castle (played by Nathan Fillion) for his daughter Alexis (played by Molly Quinn) that hit my heart.

10-Minute Warning LXX

I only have 24 minutes left before midnight so I need to make this quick.

I went to my younger brothers’ birthday benefit gig in Quezon City, and it was amazing! The gig’s theme is intimate acoustic, and the dress code is pajamas. I enjoyed listening to all the bands playing unplugged versions of their songs and covers while I’m comfortably wearing my Batman v Superman t-shirt and flannel pajama bottoms.

Right now I’m in a Mexican restaurant in Makati with my Younger Brother, and I’m excited to try their quesa birria. Happiest of birthdays to my younger bro!

10-Minute Warning LXIX

So, this is the 69th Minute Warning post. Nice.

Moving on, what happened in my life today? Well, I spent my afternoon planning my birthday theme and venue. Again. I’m supposed to start booking on October 5, but even now, I’m not sure whether I go for a karaoke costume party, a coffee and chill party, or a game night. I’m sure though that my party will happen at night.

Crap. Planning a birthday that is not a simple dinner is harder than I thought. Maybe I should just do another dinner party. (I think I said that before in a previous post.) But anyway, I should decide on the theme, contact all possible venues, and then invite my family and friends on or before November 5.

And… that’s it. That’s about it.
