10-Minute Warning XI

Well, what can I type here in under 10 minutes?

For the 1st time since I started blogging more frequently, I feel so lazy to write. But I think it would help me stop being lazy if I talk about it here. Right, Dispatch? Thank you for understanding. Now I’m ready to write again.

Oh! Today was a bit productive at work. Around lunchtime, I joined Father in surveying a condominium for the 2nd time. And this time we have company – air-con technicians from another firm. I believe my dad is overseeing the whole installation? We will return to the condo and check the installation process tomorrow morning.

After today’s survey, Father and I went home, ate some air-fried chicken, and napped. We woke up at 6pm, and our local version of Family Feud was on TV. We were supposed to go to the mall with Mother and have a haircut tonight, but perhaps we all got lazy. I hope we can have our haircut before we leave for our Cagayan trip this coming Saturday.

Speaking of Saturday, last Saturday, March 25, I was sad. Why? March 25, 2019, was the day I almost died, and March 25, 2022, was the day the drummer of my favorite band Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins, died. I’m supposed to write about what happened to me and a tribute to Taylor, but I’m too sad to even start a draft. Maybe next time.

And time’s up.

10-Minute Warning VIII

So, what can I type here in under 10 minutes?

Well, let me start with something related to work: today marks 2 months of being in the family business. And I got my salary this morning – a day after salary day! And no, I’m not complaining. At least I got paid. However, I do hope for earlier pay next time.

Speaking of the family business, maybe I should make a post about it soon? Maybe I should because I’m not planning on staying in the company for another month or 2, but it would be nice to look back at helping my family.

What else? Oh, right. I was planning on blogging today at my favorite cafe Satchmi after running errands. But now that I’m blogging right now at home, I’m not sure if I need to bring my laptop while doing my quick trips. I’ll make my final decision after having lunch and another cup of coffee or vanilla-flavored Energen.

Going back to my salary, I’m proud to say that since January 2023 I have spent less than PHP 1,000 or lower per week. Sometimes I spend nothing. Why am I so proud? Let me compare the 2023 version of myself to the 2014 version of myself: my old self would spend a lot of money on new Funko Pops per week. I’m so proud, man.

Speaking of Funko Pops, I pre-ordered this cool Undertaker/Paul Bearer two-pack set last December and I still haven’t received any updates from the store. That’s all right though. At least I’m on the pre-order list. I just have to wait. And when I pay for the set (in April, I think), that will mark my 1st big purchase for 2023. Lately, I have been saving more than spending less, so I think I deserve a reward.

And thank you, Funko, for making figures of the purple-gloved Undertaker (one of my favorite Taker eras) and Paul Bearer (my favorite pro wrestling manager)! I’m looking forward to picking up the item soon!

And time’s up.

10-Minute Warning I

So, what can I say (or type) in 10 minutes?

Well, today is Monday. I’m typing away while listening to Paramore’s “Still Into You”. It’s my current LSS and, in my opinion, one of the best Paramore songs. And yes, the song reminds me of someone I was close to. I miss her.

Today, I dreaded waking up early. I set my alarm for 8 am, but I woke up 11 minutes later. I want to go back to bed and sleep, but I can’t. I have a job to do. I need to drink some strong coffee and walk around the office, which is also our house.

I have been working for my family’s company for almost a month, and I’m thankful for my current job. It’s clerical work; it’s not the job I wanted. But at least I’m earning money now, and my writing, time management, and file management skills are being developed. And since I’m working from home, I don’t have to spend money on food. I like to stay in this job for another month or two. Or three. (It depends on when I finally get an ideal, stable web/graphic design job, a job I have been looking for for a few years and counting.)

What else? Crap. I’m not even sure if I’m writing properly. But then I’m writing under time pressure. I need to take a chill pill.

And wait a minute. Just checked my Instagram. Undertaker and Dave Grohl have Super Bowl commercials?! I must check them in a bit.

And time’s up.
