XVIII: Full Circle II (The Diary’s 2nd Anniversary)

2 years ago yesterday, I published my first post here on The Diary. And looking back at those 2 years… oh, man, I have been through a lot.

In my first year of blogging on The Diary, I promised myself to publish 13 posts per month and I will blog every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Thankfully, I reached my post goals and schedule mainly because of my Minute Warning series (where I write anything under time pressure under 10 to 30 minutes). And if I were to publish a longer post, I have a writing process that works. You can check my first-year retrospective on this post.

And today, in my second year of blogging at The Diary, I’m looking back and checking if my writing processes still work and if my blogging schedule still serves me well.

Gratitude Log I

2 weeks ago, I saw an Instagram post from musician, gamer, and cosplayer Ms. Ashley Gosiengfiao, and it got my attention because it’s about being thankful. Let me quote a part of the caption.

For 1 week, mentally (or even verbally) say thank you to the universe for every little thing. For every cup of coffee, for the roof over your head, for the gadget that you’re using to read this right now, for your nice skin today, for that momentary gust of wind on this hot day, for that pretty butterfly that just flew by, etc.

EVERY. LITTLE. THING. That you receive or that you just happen to find beautiful.

10-Minute Warning XXII

So, what can I say here in under 10 minutes?

Last weekend, I mostly felt like shit, thanks to a Twitter block. Yeah, I know. It’s so shallow. But in my previous post, I expounded on what happened and how it affected me mentally (though I locked it out for everyone to see for now.) If it weren’t for my family, friends, and a then-upcoming Foo Fighters live stream at Veeps, well… let’s just say I’m super thankful for them.

Speaking of being thankful, this week I will start a new blogging series where I list down things and people I’m thankful for. It’s somehow inspired by an Instagram post by gamer, musician, and cosplayer Ashley Gosiengfiao. The new series will be called Gratitude Log.

And speaking of Foo Fighters, they have a free global live stream on Veeps that you can watch on-demand until May 25, 2023, at 3am (Philippine time). In the live stream, they revealed the legendary rock band’s new drummer Josh Freese and they played a few old songs and new songs like “Rescued”, “Under You” and “Nothing at All”. Check this link out and enjoy the show while it’s still up!

Also, I’m lazy to work on a featured header image for this post. I will upload one tomorrow.

And time’s up.
