10-Minute Warning CCI

What can I talk about for under ten minutes?

Firstly, I’ve been trying to fix my sleeping habits again. Today, I’m supposed to wake up at 8:00am, and because I love sleep as much as burritos, I woke up an hour later. But when I looked back and reframed what happened while having FRESH POTS, I thought of that as a step in the right direction. Progress. And to quote an old Notes to Self, “It’s about progress, not perfection.” Also, at least I woke up.

Earlier, I was planning on writing another Song of the Moment entry today, but I had to attend to more pressing matters. (It’s about work, my journal system, and my health.) After dealing with those, I had a simple ala king bowl at KFC for early dinner, and now I have returned to Oversight. It’s nice to be back in my second home after walking in the incredibly humid weather. Older Dewey might still have worn the biker jacket in the summer, but now I know better, and my comfortable outfit for today (with RSVLTS’s Undertaker shirt as my hero piece) has made my small city journey bearable.

Speaking of my second home, it’s heartwarming to be in a place where I can be 141 2/3% creative with people who take good care of my safe space as my casual friends. Every time I’m here, they are always warm and friendly to me. It’s no wonder I keep coming back here, aside from their lovely contradiction called the affogato.

Speaking of affogato, aside from having simple pleasures like that every week, I need to control my appetite. I’ve been eating more than usual, and I’m starting to feel more bloated and looking like I have a food baby. I need to slowly tame my lion-like hunger. I’m not getting any younger; I need to take care of my health. I also need to drink more water because of the damned summer heat.

See you in the next post and have a nice week ahead!

10-Minute Warning CLXXIV

All right. What can I share here in under 10 minutes?

Since Monday I have been trying to sleep and wake up early—for real, this time. I drink my nightly medicine a few hours before bedtime, I lessen my social media time before bedtime, and I try not to hit the snooze button when my phone’s and smartwatch’s alarms go off.

Is it working for me so far? Yes. Thankfully, yes, and I hope to continue this for a long time. I’m not getting any younger and I need good sleep. I quote my therapist, Dr. M, “Sleep is medicine.”

Anyway, I really should go to bed. Like I said, I’m trying to sleep and wake up early. And tomorrow is another busy day at work. (It has been super-busy for a few weeks already.)
