VIII: The Deranged Writer’s 33rd Birthday (So Far)

Hello. Here’s what happened today, my birthday, so far.

I

Today I woke up at 10am; I planned on waking up earlier than that, but that’s all right. It’s my birthday.

Anyway, my Mother made some soft-boiled eggs for breakfast. My heart is happy because soft-boiled eggs have been one of my favorite dishes since I was little. After breakfast, I checked my socials (notably Facebook and Messenger) and read some of the birthday messages. I don’t want to reply to them yet, but I will later tonight or tomorrow.

10-Minute Warning LXXXI

So, what can I share here under 10 minutes after drinking 2 cans of Jack and Coke at 1am?

Yesterday I went to a music festival with my Mother and my Younger Brother. Besides knowing I would see my Youngest Brother perform with his bandmates, I didn’t know what to expect. When I arrived at the venue, I was pleasantly surprised. I noticed that my favorite Jack and Coke “powered” the event, and I was so happy to have a drink sample at 4pm. And my Youngest Brother and their bandmate not only joined a battle of the bands, but they won the contest and received PHP 100,000 in the process. That is fucking awesome. Congratulations to them!

What else? After coming home from the music festival, I started watching this South Korean series called Vigilante. The premise caught my attention – it is about a police university student who is a violent vigilante at night. There are 2 episodes so far, and it is right up my alley – vigilantism. Thank you, Disney+, for recommending it. It is definitely on top of my watch list so far.

And time’s up.

10-Minute Warning LXXX

As I’m typing this, I just finished watching Black Panther (a Marvel Cinematic Universe film starring the late great Chadwick Boseman) with my Mother and my Father. We are about to watch The Master (a martial arts film starring Jet Li), and I’m about to drink a can of Jack and Coke to kick off the weekend.

What are my plans for tomorrow? First, I will drop by my favorite cafe Satchmi and have an affogato while I update my journal. After that, I will go to the CCP complex with my Mother. My Youngest Brother will perform there in the afternoon with his bandmates, and we cannot wait to watch them.

What else? Oh, I need to decide on my birthday venue this weekend, and I will need my Younger Brother’s help. Or perhaps my entire family’s help. We will see about that. Hopefully I can start inviting my loved ones this coming week.

And time’s up.
