10-Minute Warning LXXXIV

I checked one of my alternative birthday venues today and asked about their reservation fees. Their answer made my heart and my wallet cry. How much? Let’s just say that it’s more than my current monthly salary.

As for Jollibee being another alternative venue, I’m crossing that out. I don’t feel like celebrating there this year. Maybe next year.

It’s 18 days before my birthday, and there’s still no venue. Crap.

Moving on, here’s something I’m certain of now: In celebration of my birthday, I’m going to blog every single day from November 22 to December 5 (my birthday). I’m working on a few posts early so I can achieve that. Watch this space!

And time’s up.

OK. What can I share here in under 10 minutes?

In my current job, the 1st and 2nd weeks of the month are the most stressful. So today Mother told me to work on the billings already. I usually work on those billings for at least 3 days, but I finished them all today. What a productive day. All I have to do tomorrow is to print the billings and photocopy the service reports.

Yeah. I know, I know. My job sounds boring. But at least I’m earning money from it. Average salary, but still earning. And speaking of jobs, I’m (still) looking for a web/graphic design job whenever I don’t have any tasks.

What else? Well, I’m going back to doing aerobics tomorrow. Lately, honestly, I feel weaker and I get sad whenever I look in the mirror. Just walking and jogging are not enough. I need to burn more fat and lessen my sugar intake as well. Wish me luck!

And time’s up.

10-Minute Warning VIII

So, what can I type here in under 10 minutes?

Well, let me start with something related to work: today marks 2 months of being in the family business. And I got my salary this morning – a day after salary day! And no, I’m not complaining. At least I got paid. However, I do hope for earlier pay next time.

Speaking of the family business, maybe I should make a post about it soon? Maybe I should because I’m not planning on staying in the company for another month or 2, but it would be nice to look back at helping my family.

What else? Oh, right. I was planning on blogging today at my favorite cafe Satchmi after running errands. But now that I’m blogging right now at home, I’m not sure if I need to bring my laptop while doing my quick trips. I’ll make my final decision after having lunch and another cup of coffee or vanilla-flavored Energen.

Going back to my salary, I’m proud to say that since January 2023 I have spent less than PHP 1,000 or lower per week. Sometimes I spend nothing. Why am I so proud? Let me compare the 2023 version of myself to the 2014 version of myself: my old self would spend a lot of money on new Funko Pops per week. I’m so proud, man.

Speaking of Funko Pops, I pre-ordered this cool Undertaker/Paul Bearer two-pack set last December and I still haven’t received any updates from the store. That’s all right though. At least I’m on the pre-order list. I just have to wait. And when I pay for the set (in April, I think), that will mark my 1st big purchase for 2023. Lately, I have been saving more than spending less, so I think I deserve a reward.

And thank you, Funko, for making figures of the purple-gloved Undertaker (one of my favorite Taker eras) and Paul Bearer (my favorite pro wrestling manager)! I’m looking forward to picking up the item soon!

And time’s up.
