Song of the Moment CIV: Killswitch Engage’s “This Fire Burns” (Again)

In my current job, the busiest week of the month is the first week, so I expect this week (my birthday week) to be filled with paperwork. But my workload today is so overwhelming because it’s three days’ worth of tasks, and the report I’m working on needs to be submitted tomorrow. Good grief.

Thankfully, I powered through most of the tasks after lunch and into the afternoon. Now it’s nighttime, and I need a short break. I need to have chicken tinola for dinner to warm and comfort my soul, and to write how I feel here in The Diary to feel lighter. After this break, I will go to the mall, buy some office supplies, go home, and then finish the final set of tasks.

I usually listen to my mellow playlist at nighttime to relax my nerves and prepare for bed, but tonight, I don’t need calm. I need my manic playlist filled with fist-pumping rock/metal while I burn the midnight oil. But first, I’m queueing “This Fire Burns” by Killswitch Engage, the first WWE theme song of my current top favorite wrestler in WWE, “The Best in the World” CM Punk.

Killswitch Engage’s “This Fire Burns” (Also known as “This Fire”).

What a December 3, and it’s two days to go before my birthday. Anyway, I’m going back to work. It’s clobberin’ time.

See you in the next post.

10-Minute Warning CXCII

What can I write here in under ten minutes?

Let me just list down what happened today:

  1. Lately, I have been drinking FRESH POTS every morning. Again. Today is no exception. 2010 Dewey is screaming with joy.
  2. I recited Steiner Math at home. Again. HOLLA IF YA HEAR ME!!!
  3. I walked from my mall of choice to the nearest hospital. That’s 1 km.
  4. I walked from the hospital lobby to the 12th floor through the emergency stairway to buy my dermatologist’s medicine.
  5. After going down to the hospital lobby via elevator, I walked from there to the mall. That’s another 1 km.
  6. I met with my Mother, my cousin May, and my Tita Maggie, and we had a lovely merienda at Paul. I ordered a tartine salmon, and paired it with a refreshing glass of mango juice. It was excellent! I’d order a tartine salmon from Paul again.
  7. I walked around the mall to cool down further. I almost tried a different cafe that also serves affogato.
  8. I was mocked by a group of people because of my face. I know because when I passed by them, I heard them saying, “Pogi ang pananamit, pero ang pangit ng mukha.” (The style is nice, but the face is ugly.) I’m aware that I don’t have the face of a matinee idol. In fact, I have been insecure about my looks for a long time, and their mocking didn’t help at all. I was really hurt. Thanks for that.
  9. To calm myself, reset, and feel better, I dropped by my favorite cafe again, and I had a hot Earl Grey tea. This time, I only stayed for around ten minutes. I already did my Monday ritual anyway, so I’m good with a quick cup of tea.
  10. I went home with my parents and my cousin May.
  11. And now I’m writing this post.

Oops. My ten minutes are up. See you in the next post.

10-Minute Warning CLXXX

OK. What can I write here under 10 minutes?

Firstly, let me say how happy I am because I have been on a writing roll lately—at least in my actual journal. I found ways to make the memory-logging process more enjoyable and efficient, and they allowed me to catch up on earlier entries. I am totally over the moon. I could share my journal-writing process someday.

And because I’m so happy and inspired to write more, I might join my Younger Brother in his work time at the nearest cafe tonight. I have a site visit tomorrow with my boss (who also happened to be my Father), but tonight I could use some chillaxing and writing at a cool cafe, and then go home early.

But what about The Diary? Don’t worry. More posts are coming soon, and I might even go past my three-post-per-week rule this week.

Secondly, I’m tempted to sound off about a work permit… but my 10 minutes are almost up. See you in the next post.
