XLVII: Song of the Moment CXIII / The Deranged Writer’s Struggle with Steinermania IV

I have a few rituals as a huge fan of my favorite band, the legendary alternative/hard rock band, Foo Fighters. Here’s one of them: whenever they release a new song, I listen to it at least 50 times (scattered throughout the day if I’m busy), and then stop for a while.

Last February 19, I listened to a fresh Foo Fighters song the second it was released, and after reaching a certain number of listens (or scrobbles, in Last.fm terms), I had to stop listening and mark it down because it triggered my Steinermania once again.

Song of the Moment LXXXVIII: Foo Fighters’ “Resolve”

Today, I did more work than usual. I even went into overtime. But I’m not complaining because a fire has lit inside of me since last weekend.

So, I opened tonight’s bout with 10+ repair proposals by wearing my earphones and playing my favorite songs playlist on Spotify. Each random song that played while I was working was energetic enough to fuel my fire, from Shinedown’s “DEVIL”, The Ting Tings’ “That’s Not My Name”, and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Can’t Stop”.

Upon reaching the final proposal for the night, my favorite song of all time, Foo Fighters’ “The Pretender”, played. I cried as I heard my beloved anthem and I typed the last few words and numbers because it’s like the universe is telling me to push one more time before I do my nightly rituals.

And when I started printing the last proposal, Spotify played another favorite Foo Fighters song of mine, “Resolve”. It’s from the band’s fifth studio album In Your Honor, and it was the perfect song to end overtime… and the perfect song to be my Song of the Moment.

I’m tempted to open a can of Jack & Coke Zero, but nope.

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

10-Minute Warning XIII

Well, so what can I share here in under 10 minutes?

Let me start with what happened today. Most of (my) daytime are dedicated to working for the family business, which is basically encoding data. Yesterday I started working on the monthly report and billing for March 2023, and, good grief, I had little to no energy to work. It was like I’m on autopilot. Good thing there is no hard deadline, I got enough rest, and then I continued and finished the reports today. The next task for tomorrow: print said reports.

I know I said in the 8th 10-Minute Warning post that I should write a post dedicated to my current job. I’m still working on it, and I hope I can finish it soon. (That’s what I said though with my Cagayan 2023 trip post. Forgive me, dear reader, and my Dispatch.)

What else? Oh yeah. Father, Younger Brother, and I will have a checkup tomorrow. The 3 of us have had coughs and colds for quite a while and we are worried. We are pretty sure it’s not COVID-19, but we are worried still.

And oh! This is the 13th 10-Minute Warning post, and 13 is one of my favorite numbers. Just sharing a DW fact.

And time’s up.
