Notes to Self VIII

Recently, whenever my parents/bosses didn’t have a task for me, I did a few job interviews. And not one employer gave a job offer; not even an entry-level one. I thought all the rejections I have taken since the COVID-19 pandemic had toughened me up, but it still breaks my heart whenever a potential employer doesn’t take a chance on me. I truly feel like giving up on hunting for a web/graphic design job and just focusing on the clerical work that I have now.

Then recently, while I was binge-watching the American crime mystery/dramedy series Castle, I heard a quote from Richard Castle (played by Nathan Fillion) for his daughter Alexis (played by Molly Quinn) that hit my heart.

And that, my friends, is my 8th Note to Self.

10-Minute Warning XLV

Today my family and I needed to wake up and prepare early so we can get our 2nd COVID-19 booster shot early. And man… I want to go back to bed. I only have 5 hours of sleep. But I need to get the booster shot, so I drank some strong coffee to wake myself up.

Fast-forward to checking my blood pressure (BP) before getting the booster shot, the assigned doctor noticed that my BP is high and I need to wait for 10 minutes to calm myself and then have my BP checked again. I suddenly regret drinking that cup of black coffee. Stupid DW.

I would like to expound on what happened to my COVID-19 vaccination today, but right now I want to sleep more than 5 hours.

Until next time.

10-Minute Warning XIV

So, what can I type here in under 10 minutes?

Oh, yes. Because I have been coughing for a week, I went to see the doctor yesterday. And thank goodness I did. The good news: I don’t have COVID-19. The not-so-good news: I have to drink 5 medicines for my cough and cold plus asthma. (It’s official: my asthma is back after so many years.) I know that’s a lot of medication, but at least I know what to do to get rid of my sickness. I hate being sick.

Father and Younger Brother also went to see the doctor because they have been coughing like hell as well. They were given fewer prescriptions than I did. I’m envious somehow, but at least they don’t have to deal with many meds like I do. And thank goodness they don’t have the coronavirus.

As for Mother, she doesn’t have coughs or colds. Thank goodness. I hope I don’t infect her or anyone else in the coming days. I’m currently wearing a face mask at home to be safe.

Also, I printed a lot of documents while dealing with a shitty Internet connection. I had to reset the modem, connect my laptop to the printer wirelessly, print the documents, and then do it all over again. And I did the process 5 times. Damn.

And here’s some other good news: the 11×17 print I ordered from my favorite cosplayer, Riki “Riddle” LeCotey, will arrive at home in just a few weeks. I ordered them last December 2022 as a birthday gift to myself and a “peace offering” to Ms. Riki because I greeted her with a happy birthday way too late. Then I had the prints shipped to my ShippingCart storage account, saved a bit of money for the item shipping from ShippingCart to my house for 2 months, and then finally had the item shipped to my house. I’m so excited to get my prints! Now I need to avoid death in the coming weeks.

And time’s up.
