Song of the Moment LXXX: Ghost’s “Lachryma”

This work week has been astoundingly stressful, and I feel it’s just the beginning of more stress. Because of that, I’m going to make my weekend extra special. For starters, I’m drinking an ice-cold Jack & Coke Zero early while listening to Ghost’s new single, “Lachryma”.

I love the new song because it sounds like old-school Ghost but on another level. And the accompanying music video is amazing—Papa V Perpetua looks hauntingly regal.

I’m supposed to write more, but now I feel buzzed. Anyway, Ghost’s new album Skeletá will be released on April 25, 2025. I’m excited about it!

Happy weekend, everyone!

Song of the Moment LXXIX: Pieter Anø’s “Purple Rain” (A Prince Cover) (Again)

After an incredibly stressful and honestly unfulfilling day, I don’t feel like making another Minute Warning post. I just want to listen to sad piano music while drinking my favorite Jack & Coke Zero tonight. (But I can’t drink tonight because it’s not the weekend yet. I’m tempted to drink my favorite cocktail, but no. Water is fine, thank you.)

Anyway, what am I listening to as I type this? It’s Pieter Anø’s melancholic cover of “Purple Rain” (Prince’s greatest song, in my opinion). This is the second time the song has been my Song of the Moment, and I will listen to it a few more times and then go to sleep.

Will I feel better tomorrow? I don’t know. Maybe not.

See you soon, I hope.

Song of the Moment LXXVI: Jim Johnston’s “Rest in Peace”

Oh, man… today, after a long trip to the south to survey and work on a test job, I feel so tired. In fact, I’m so tired that I did not even bother listening to music at all. Or at least until now. I rarely skip music time.

And what is the last song I listened to? It’s the last version of the legendary Undertaker’s theme song, “Rest in Peace”. (Correct me if I’m wrong about the last version.) It is made by another legend in professional wrestling, the musical genius Jim Johnston. (I say this again: Mr. Johnston should be in the WWE Hall of Fame.)

Now that I think about it, I will listen to “Rest in Peace” again tonight, and then I will rest. Not in peace, just rest.

Until the next post.
