10-Minute Warning CC

200 10-Minute Warning posts. Even my own jaw dropped from the humongous statistic. I’m truly glad I reached a milestone like that.

Anyway, what else should I share in under ten minutes?

Summer is near, so the country will experience unbearable, hell-like heat for a few months. That also means my employer will experience its peak season, and we need to prepare for that. More people will need cool, fresh air this coming hot season, and they will need our services. In our way, we’re helping people, and helping others is one of the most fulfilling things anyone can do.

Speaking of services, that reminds me of my current predicament: a second job. I reevaluated my plans for this year, and if I were to really push that particular plan, I may have to change my timetable. Pushing through that plan later is the wisest choice.

Also, I haven’t seen this week’s WWE Raw, but I saw some clips, like The Usos confronting CM Punk after his unbelievably cruel words to Roman Reigns last week. I’ve been clearing many pending tasks that piled up since March started, so I don’t even have the energy to watch the entire episode tonight. But based on the clips, the road to WrestleMania 42 is getting rougher and more interesting.

My ten minutes are almost up. See you in the next post.

Song of the Moment LXX: Rise Against’s “Ready to Fall”

Since Monday, I have been listening more (again) to my second favorite band of all time, the American progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria. But today, because of an old draft, I decided to set aside Coheed and Cambria for a while and listen more to another favorite band since 2007, the American punk rock band Rise Against.

I started listening to Spotify’s “This is Rise Against” playlist, and it has been fun listening to my favorite songs from theirs (e.g. “State of the Union”, “Prayer of the Refugee”) to tracks I have heard a few times (e.g. “Broken Dreams, Inc.”, “House on Fire”). But what is disappointing is that the best Rise Against (in my opinion) is not on the playlist. What’s that song? It’s “Ready to Fall”, the lead single from the band’s fourth studio album The Sufferer & the Witness, and my all-time favorite song from them. And tonight, it’s my Song of the Moment.

I suddenly remember the summer of 2007 and my first term as a college freshman. Oh, the memories…

Happy Wednesday, everyone.

Song of the Moment XXXI: James Blunt’s “You’re Beautiful”

I just came back from Tokyo, Japan with my family this morning. How was the whole vacation? Japan blew me away. The cool summer weather made it bearable to walk for miles, the food – especially their sashimi – was amazing, I bought a lot of souvenirs and Foo Fighters albums without breaking the bank, and all of the tourist spots we went to were breathtaking. The only downside of the trip is that 5 days is not enough to enjoy Japan.

Well, I take it back. There is another downside at least on my end. After having dinner at a Saizeriya in Shibuya, I saw a beautiful girl walk inside the restaurant. She has the face of an angel. 23-year-old Deranged Writer might have the courage to approach her, but now I know better and just let her be.

To the girl I saw in Shibuya, I want to let you know that you’re beautiful and I would like to know you more. But then I quote the last 2 lines of James Blunt’s most famous song…

But it’s time to face the truth
I will never be with you

That is all.
