Song of the Moment LXVIII: My Chemical Romance’s “Disenchanted”

This week, I have decided to listen more to one of my favorite bands when I was in high school, My Chemical Romance. And yesterday, I have been listening to their iconic third studio album, The Black Parade.

Setting aside The Black Parade album’s concept around the character “The Patient”, whenever I listen to the album, I remember my last few months in high school. I remember the day I brought the album on campus discreetly and played it inside our classroom. I remember an old friend (a My Chemical Romance fan since day one) who recommended me to listen to the band’s first album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, and I did so long after. And I remember the night when I wrote the good and bad parts of my senior prom on my first blog, I was drinking an ice-cold Coca-Cola, and track twelve of the album (and one of my favorite tracks as well), “Disenchanted”, was playing in the background.

Oh, the memories. And tonight, “Disenchanted”, is on repeat.

That is all.

Song of the Moment LXV: Them Crooked Vultures’ “Mind Eraser, No Chaser”

I said I would listen to at least one different music artist per week, and last Monday I listened to all of Spice Girls’ studio albums. (Yes, I listen to Spice Girls. Deal with it.) But because January 14 is Dave Grohl’s birthday, I had to set the iconic English girl group aside and listen more to the bands throughout Mr. Grohl’s career – iconic grunge band Nirvana, my favorite band of all time Foo Fighters, and my favorite rock supergroup Them Crooked Vultures.

As I type this, I’m drinking my favorite Jack and Coke Zero while listening to “Mind Eraser, No Chaser”, the second song from Them Crooked Vultures’ self-titled debut (and only) album and my favorite song from them. Mr. Grohl’s team-up with Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin is mind-blowing. I hope they will reunite and make another record.

Belated happiest birthday to Dave Grohl!

Song of the Moment LI: Coheed and Cambria’s “God Send Conspirator”

Sorry again for the lack of updates lately, Diary. One reason behind that is laziness. But since I promised to meet my monthly blog count and have only blogged 5 times so far this month, I’m forcing myself to write tonight until the end of October.

Anyway, recently I finished listening to Linkin Park’s most recent studio albums: Living Things, The Hunting Party, and One More Light, and it was a wonderful sound journey. And last Monday I moved on to another favorite musical act: the progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria. I started listening to their 1st studio album The Second Stage Turbine Blade, but I never finished it until tonight. As I type this, I’m listening to the album’s last track and a favorite Coheed track of mine, “God Send Conspirator”.

That is all for now. See you tomorrow.
