Song of the Moment XXXII: Ed Sheeran’s “Save Myself”

I’m in a mellow mood tonight after a long day at work, reminiscing and missing a few people while my sad Spotify playlist is on shuffle. I was about to buy a Jack and Coke Zero at the nearest convenience store, but today is Wednesday so I resisted.

And then Spotify played an Ed Sheeran song about loving oneself – something I’m not good at. But I swear I’m trying.

So before I save someone else, I’ve got to save myself
And before I blame someone else, I’ve got to save myself
And before I love someone else, I’ve got to love myself

“The Pretender” is the 1st track single from the 6th Foo Fighters studio album, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace. The song (and album) were released in 2007, and it was nominated for Best Rock Song and Record of the Year in the 2008 Grammy Awards.
