10-Minute Warning CXCVII

What can I talk about here in under ten minutes?

For the first time in 2026, I woke up at 8:00am. It’s earlier than I planned, and that’s a good thing. I hope to be able to continue this schedule in the coming weeks or even months. I’m not really a morning person, but I need to be that if I want to help out in the family business.

Earlier, I ran errands in Makati with my Mother and Father, then we bought some honey/citron/ginger tea, my afternoon drink that I call The Angel’s Cup. While I appreciate the orange black tea and honey lemon pomegranate tea, I’m looking forward to drinking the same tea I fell in love with in October 2025. We bought some four jars for good measure! Hell yes!

When it comes to music this week, I’ve been listening to two of my musical heroes. As usual, one of them is Dave Grohl, while the other one is Bruno Mars. Last week, Mr. Mars released a new single called “I Just Might”, and like everyone, I can’t stop listening to such a disco gem. Because of the latest hit, I’ve been also listening to all of his studio albums, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, Unorthodox Jukebox, and 24K Magic. I’m so stoked for my musically gifted doppelgänger’s upcoming album, The Romantic (to be released on February 27, 2026)!

As for Mr. Grohl, in light of his birthday last Wednesday, “How Do You Do” (a part of the soundtrack for the 1997 black comedy movie Touch) is my Song of the Moment. It still is. With that, I’ve been listening to the music he’s a part of from Nirvana’s Nevermind and In Utero to all of his work for the Foo Fighters (my favorite band of all time). As usual, it has been a total pleasure looking back on all of his musical masterpieces with my ears.

Sorry, I’ve been rambling. Then again, this is a Minute Warning post. But still, sorry. My mind is so active like Dave Grohl when fueled with FRESH POTS, while my body is waving the white flag once again. Particularly, my left shoulder hurts like hell, and I don’t remember pulling a muscle on that body part. Not recently anyway. I’m getting really old. Fuck.

Anyway, my ten minutes are almost up. See you in the next post, and happy weekend to all!

Song of the Moment C: Foo Fighters’ “Run”

I’ve had many right-song-at-the-right-time moments lately, from hearing Saya’s “Natsu Shigure” during a rainy walk to my favorite cafe last June to hearing the opening theme of Person of Interest (my all-time favorite show) when I typed the exact title during a recent online conversation. As a music fan, I truly love those perfectly-timed moments.

Today, I finally recovered from two weeks of muscle pain and coughing. (Violently coughing at night is not a good experience at all. And I can really feel the aging now. Damn.) Thanks to resting, drinking The Angel’s Cup (which is basically hot honey/citron/ginger tea), and listening more to mellow music, now I’m feeling great physically, and I went back just in time for work. The first thing I did upon my return: open my laptop, open my Spotify app, and look for my favorite songs list (which consists of songs from various genres and music acts). I was curious if the universe and Spotify would deliver at least one perfectly-timed song, so I hit shuffle again.

10-Minute Warning CLXXXIX

Hi, Diary. What can I type in under ten minutes?

After a whirlwind set of days filled with Foo Fighters euphoria, wandering around Singapore in a short period of time, returning to Manila, and then returning to my normal routine, my body’s truly waving the white flag. My muscles are still a bit sore, and my throat hurts. (In the first few days of having throat pain after the Foo Fighters show at the Singapore Grand Prix, I sounded like Lemmy from Motörhead.) And today, I’ve been coughing. Perhaps you can say that now I’m a flu fighter. And I’m fighting the flu with Bioflu, some hot honey/citron/ginger tea, and lots of rest.

But then my Father ordered me to finish some paperwork this afternoon. He’s also my boss, so I can’t say no to that. At least the paperwork is easy though. I’ve done them before anyway. It’s like muscle memory.

Speaking of muscles, my arms are in more pain than usual. Fuck. Even if I have more things to say and my ten minutes are still not up, I need more rest.

And that’s my update for today. See you in the next post. (And I hope I feel better when that happens.)
