10-Minute Warning CXV

Hello, Diary. I’ll make this quick.

Right now I’m enjoying my 3rd Jack and Coke while having a movie night with my Younger Brother and cousins. We were on the edge of our seats while watching Olympus Has Fallen, and now we are watching the sequel London Has Fallen. I hope the sequel is as good as the 1st one.

In other news, well… I rarely talk about my love life here on The Diary, but I just updated my dating app profile and I’m testing the waters a bit. It has been a few years since I used the app, and I have been swiping left a lot. But whenever I see a profile that is worthy of a right swipe, I close the app. Damn it. Good luck to me, I guess?

And time’s up. Happy weekend!

So, what can I write here under 30 minutes?

The past few days have been memorable. Let me list down:

On February 12, I walked from my home to Arcovia City with my Mother and cousin May… and then we walked back home. I hope to walk and jog to places other than Three Trees because changing my routine is nice.

On February 13, I finally got the posters featuring Riki “Riddle” LeCotey’s Wednesday Addams cosplay, and all 3 posters were signed with “Happy birthday, DW!” I’m on cloud nine even now. Ms. Riddle is such a nice lady. I hope she visits a comic con in the Philippines this year or later.

On February 14, I attended Mass with my Mother and cousins for Ash Wednesday, and then we had some burgers and milkshakes at Shake Shack. My stomach is happy.

On February 15, I attended a gig organized by my younger brothers and their team. Even if I’m not much of a nocturnal as I was, it was nice seeing bands rock it out live until 12am. I hope to see more musical acts this year.

And then I started today, February 16, with a chicken drumstick meal with my younger brothers at Frankie’s BGC. It has been a while since we ate there, and we missed it. After our late dinner, we went home and I slept like a baby. Good thing I didn’t have work to do, so I took it easy. Tonight I went to my favorite cafe Satchmi, had a baked ziti and iced tea, and I updated my journal after.

Right now I’m finishing this post while I’m drinking my Jack and Coke. The weekend has officially begun!

And time’s up.

OK. What can I share here in under 30 minutes?

Let me recall what happened last weekend. Last Friday night, I had my weekly Jack and Coke and an Army Navy California Burger to kick off the weekend. This is why I’m fat. But whatever. My weekend kick-off makes me happy. But this time, I lessened the number of Jack and Cokes I drank – I drank 2 instead of 3. My therapist told me to slowly lessen the drinking instead of going cold turkey, so I did. As much as I want to gulp my favorite drink, I need to take care of my health.

How about last Saturday? Well, the day was all right. I paid some bills and I rested a lot. Thank goodness for the weekend. But the most note-worthy thing happened during the night: my younger brothers’ band joined a battle of the bands. As usual, I recorded their whole set, but I was screaming and cheering for them this time. Unfortunately, they lost, but what matters is they did their best. Better luck next time… and I will invite more people to cheer for the band. And hats off to the other bands – they also killed it and they deserve the cheers they got.

As for Sunday, I went to church and then I dropped by my favorite spot Satchmi. But before I went to my favorite cafe, I suddenly saw a friend that I had not seen in… a decade? Yeah! It was that long. But seeing my friend for a few seconds made my day – the 1st friend I interacted with in person this 2024. I love it when I see good friends suddenly and without planning it! After seeing my friend and having my weekly cafe drink, I joined my Mother and cousins in having some tasty ramen for dinner. My weekend ended on a lovely note!

Moving on to today, I feel great! What happened during the weekend gave me a lot of energy to do all the sudden workload for today. And working while listening to the Foo Fighters’ 10th studio album Medicine at Midnight – which was released 3 years ago today – motivated me even further. Thank you, my favorite band.

I started my week strong, and I hope to keep it up throughout the week and beyond!

And time’s up.
