Song of the Moment VII: Foo Fighters’ “Everlong (Acoustic)”

Yesterday, January 14, 2024, was the 55th birthday of my number 1 hero, Dave Grohl of Nirvana and Foo Fighters. I wanted to pay tribute to my idol with a long post, but until now I’m still not done with it. I don’t want to rush it; I want my tribute post to be perfect, and I hope to finish it by this month.

In the meantime, let me share a video of Dave Grohl performing the acoustic version of arguably his magnum opus, “Everlong”. The video was originally aired on March 20, 2021, as part of Oates Song Fest 7908. It has 2 parts: (1) the songwriting process and (2) the performance itself. Skip to 6:56 if you want to check out the performance right away. It’s so breathtaking. I love the acoustic version as much as I love the original one.

Dave Grohl explains the songwriting process of Foo Fighters’ “Everlong” and then performs the acoustic version.

Happiest birthday, Dave Grohl! Thank you for cheering me up and saving me through your music. You will always be my ultimate hero!

10-Minute Warning CII

So, what can I share here under 10 minutes?

Right now, I just walked away from my usual jogging path because there is a car that has been circling around said path. I may be paranoid, but I have to stay away to be safe. As the saying goes, “It’s better to be safe than sorry.”

Anyway, I like the weather right now. The cool breeze makes the walking and jogging around comfortable. I like it! I will miss this kind of weather when March comes. (In the Philippines, March is the start of summer.)

What else? Oh! I just reached 6km. Good job, self! And thank you, my Mi Watch, for tracking my steps and kilometers reached.

I just remembered: Tetsuo Kurata of Kamen Rider BLACK will have a meet-and-greet tomorrow at The Linden Suites. This is a rare opportunity, so I might go there to have a photo taken with one of my childhood heroes. But that means I should wake up early on a Saturday. Wish me luck!

And time’s up.

Song of the Moment VI: Linkin Park’s “One Step Closer”

The music video of Linkin Park’s “One Step Closer”.

Tonight, I entered a gym for the 1st time in… 7 years, I think? Anyway, I walked and jogged on the treadmill for an hour while I’m listening to a Spotify playlist for running.

3 minutes away from finishing the exercise, “One Step Closer” by Linkin Park played. And the 1st line was…

I cannot take this anymore

Linkin Park’s “One Step Closer”

How fitting. But I still finished the workout.
