Song of the Moment XVIII: Stone Sour’s “Absolute Zero”

In my previous post last Friday, I mentioned that I was sick. Now, the only thing that is bothering me is my cough. But that will not stop me from walking and jogging tonight. And instead of walking at my usual jog path, I will join my brothers tonight at the gym and use one of the treadmills. And if I can lift some weights, maybe I should as well? Or maybe not. I will see about that.

Wait a minute. I just realized something: Tonight will be the 1st time I will exercise with all my brothers at the gym. Bro time!

Speaking of exercise, let me share one of my all-time favorite songs and the 1st track on my workout playlist – “Absolute Zero” by Stone Sour. Corey Taylor’s melodic screaming and the hard rock instrumentals never fail to pump me up. Hell yeah.

30-Minute Warning XIX

Oh, God. Today is Saturday, March 9, 2024. What can I even share here under 30 minutes after drinking highball glasses of 6 Jack and Cokes?

Well, should I even share something right now after getting some liquid courage? I do not know. Right now, I am listening to War’s “Why Can We Be Friends?” more than once – something I usually do when I want to reconnect with an old friend I had a fallout with. And right now, I am also waiting for my Younger Brother to come home. Usually, he sobers up before going home, and I am sure he will keep his word. I will sleep after he comes home.

Speaking of that old friend, will I even have that reconnection? I have been praying for that reconnection for years, but will it even happen? I have been praying for it so hard yet I feel like giving up… but damn. Should I give up? My soul tells me otherwise.

What else? Oh, I am not sure if I should make my own blog featured image for this post. Maybe I should? Maybe I should. But right now, I am too drunk to click and open my Adobe Photoshop, and I am so sure tonight is the 1st time I have drank more than 5 glasses of Jack and Coke. Maybe I should just upload the image after I post this.

Again, what else? Right. My hair is full of oil-based bubble-gum-scented pomade right now, and I started washing it with hot water before I had my 1st glass of Jack and Coke last night. I need to wash my hair 2 or 3 more times so I can tell that my hair is pomade-free – and right now, that will happen this Sunday. Oh, well.

30-Minute Warning XVIII

So, what can I type here under 30 minutes?

Oh, goodness… what a long day. I went to Malate to pick up something important, and since El Poco Cantina is nearby, I went there to have a late lunch. Their quesabirria tacos are so yummy that I will go back for more and I will recommend their food (again) to everyone in my inner circle.

After my late lunch, I hopped on the LRT and MRT (something I have not done in [I think] 2 years) and I was reminded of all my daily commutes as a student and as a worker in Makati. The coaches were almost packed to capacity, but it was bearable. It’s a good thing I took the train before rush hour. After the train ride, I went to my favorite spot Satchmi for my affogato fix and to write in my journal. After that, I went to BGC for some more errands, and then I went home.

Basically, I went to 3 different cities today. It was tiring but it was nice and somehow productive.

What else? Oh, right. Taylor Swift is in Singapore for her Eras Tour. She already performed last March 2, 3, 4, 7, and today, March 8 (I’m sure the show already ended after I typed this post). Her final Singapore show (at least for the Eras Tour) will happen tomorrow, March 9. That’s 6 shows in Singapore. Wow. And I’m so happy for my friends who have seen her and will see her live. My favorite band, Foo Fighters, performed at the same stadium last August 26, 2017, and I have so many happy memories of that show. I hope to see the Foos again, Taylor Swift, or any other favorite musical act of mine this 2024 or later. Fingers crossed!
