Notes to Self X

Today, the day before my 33rd birthday, I’m starting to feel more excited. Gone are the days when I got worried about party venues and ruined plans because now everything is all set. I’m looking forward to having a simple Italian dinner party with my family and a few of my closest friends.

Other than my excitement for my birthday party, what happened today? I started working on a few November billings and then capped off the day with a viewing of Doctor Strange with my Father. While we were watching, I was reminded of a quote from The Ancient One (played by Tilda Swinton) bout having inner demons.

10-Minute Warning XCI

What can I share here under 10 minutes?

After all the ruined plans, tonight I feel a better because I finally got a venue for my birthday dinner. The venue’s interior and food are great, and I’m a happy guy. Fuck yes!

Now I have to ask the people on my guestlist if they are still available on December 5. I hope they are… oh, wait. As I’m typing this, 1 already confirmed. That’s plus points for him!

Damn. Looking back at all the planning, I learned a lot and I also realized something: birthday planning is not easy. I should make that a post soon or something.

Song of the Moment II: Ghost’s “Zenith”

Ghost, a heavy metal/hard rock band hailing from Sweden and one of my favorite bands ever, just released a compilation album called 13 Commandments yesterday. And to my delight, one of the tracks on the album is their best song yet but has never been officially released in digital form until now. And now that it’s on YouTube and on my Spotify, this awe-inspiring track is on repeat.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is “Zenith”.

Ghost’s “Zenith”, a track from the compilation album 13 Commandments.

Note: This post’s date is December 2, 2023. But to tell you the truth, I published it around 12am of December 3. I have problems with my mobile data while I was out, so I only got to publish it when I arrived home.
