Start time: 7:05pm.
So, what can I share here in under 30 minutes?
After weeks of revisiting Person of Interest episodes on Wednesdays, having a temporary two-week break from my Always Watching series is a breath of fresh air that I sorely need. I’ve been using this break to refine my previous episode reviews, prepare for the next several ones, and deal with what’s more important: real life. Thankfully, my short break is doing wonders!
Since the break started, I feel like I’ve been carrying less weight. It’s not that I hate writing the reviews. In fact, it’s a passion project I’ve wanted to pursue for a long time, and I have so many thoughts and feelings about my favorite show. But I didn’t expect that my mind would still scatter all around, no matter how good my initial outline was. As I said before, it took me a few reviews before discovering my preferred format, and, depending on the episode, I may need to make a few adjustments. When I’m ready to review again, I’ll continue with the next episode, “Super.”
Anyway, the short break also helped me deal with real life, most especially in my day job. My responsibilities have grown, and because of the break, the stress levels have been manageable. My only complaint: I need more compensation for this. As for my other goals, I’ve started them. I still have a long way to go (December is my deadline), but what matters is that I’ve already started. At this point, if I delay it a bit longer, I’ll be toast, and I have an ugly habit of punishing myself for not realizing my dreams and goals.
What else? I still have a few minutes to go, but I truly want to enjoy some affogato while listening to calm, mellow music at my favorite cafe. Actually, I thought of not working on a Minute Warning post tonight. But then I remembered a deeper reason I took a two-week break from Always Watching: to lessen the stress that I already have. And pressuring and squeezing my brain to write a lengthy post defeats the purpose.
See you in the next post, and have a nice week ahead!
End time: 7:31pm.
