Song of the Moment XL: Foo Fighters’ “Another Round”

On June 14, 2005, The Foo Fighters released their 5th studio album In Your Honor. It’s a double album with heavy rock songs on the 1st disc and mellow acoustic tracks on the 2nd. And my favorite song on the acoustic side (and one of my top 20 favorite Foo Fighters songs ever) is “Another Round”.

I love “Another Round” for a few reasons. Firstly, the harmonica solo by Danny Clinch made the song stand out from the rest of disc 2. Secondly, Dave Grohl’s gentle guitar strumming while singing his heart out. And thirdly, I am in awe of the mellow lyrics. Here is a part of it:

Room full of photographs
Box full of letters
Come on make it last
Nothing else matters right now

Foo Fighters’ “Another Round”

But even if “Another Round” is one of my favorite Foos songs of all time, I have listened to it less in recent years. Maybe it’s because of some of the memories attached to the song when I listened to it almost nonstop. But now I’m older, I have been through a lot, and many things have changed, tonight I’m listening to it multiple times with a different understanding.

That is all.

Song of the Moment XXXIX: Bruno Mars’ “The Lazy Song”

I know, I know. I said I would try to blog last Sunday. And I was also supposed to blog yesterday. But let me quote a hit song from the ultra-talented Bruno Mars…

Today I don’t feel like doing anything
I just wanna lay in my bed
Don’t feel like picking up my phone
So leave a message at the tone
‘Cause today I swear I’m not doing anything

Song of the Moment XXXVIII: NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye”

Deadpool & Wolverine will premiere in Philippine cinemas on Wednesday, July 24, and I’m looking forward to watching it on the opening day with my brothers and cousins. To add to the excitement, the superhero movie’s official soundtrack list (titled Deadpool & Wolverine: Van Jamz) was released a few days ago, and one of those songs is a classic from the American boy band NSYNC, “Bye Bye Bye”. Of course, “Bye Bye Bye” is part of the soundtrack.

You can check out the full Deadpool & Wolverine: Van Jamz tracklist in the Instagram post below, and you can listen to the entire tracklist and more (minus Rob Simonsen’s “LFG” however) on Spotify by clicking here. The full soundtrack will be released on July 24; the physical release on July 26.

Speaking of Spotify, they promoted the official Deadpool & Wolverine playlist through a YouTube video of Deadpool and Wolverine working on a podcast. I would listen to that podcast all day.

That is all. “Bye bye bye.”
