10-Minute Warning XIII

Well, so what can I share here in under 10 minutes?

Let me start with what happened today. Most of (my) daytime are dedicated to working for the family business, which is basically encoding data. Yesterday I started working on the monthly report and billing for March 2023, and, good grief, I had little to no energy to work. It was like I’m on autopilot. Good thing there is no hard deadline, I got enough rest, and then I continued and finished the reports today. The next task for tomorrow: print said reports.

I know I said in the 8th 10-Minute Warning post that I should write a post dedicated to my current job. I’m still working on it, and I hope I can finish it soon. (That’s what I said though with my Cagayan 2023 trip post. Forgive me, dear reader, and my Dispatch.)

What else? Oh yeah. Father, Younger Brother, and I will have a checkup tomorrow. The 3 of us have had coughs and colds for quite a while and we are worried. We are pretty sure it’s not COVID-19, but we are worried still.

And oh! This is the 13th 10-Minute Warning post, and 13 is one of my favorite numbers. Just sharing a DW fact.

And time’s up.

10-Minute Warning XI

Well, what can I type here in under 10 minutes?

For the 1st time since I started blogging more frequently, I feel so lazy to write. But I think it would help me stop being lazy if I talk about it here. Right, Dispatch? Thank you for understanding. Now I’m ready to write again.

Oh! Today was a bit productive at work. Around lunchtime, I joined Father in surveying a condominium for the 2nd time. And this time we have company – air-con technicians from another firm. I believe my dad is overseeing the whole installation? We will return to the condo and check the installation process tomorrow morning.

After today’s survey, Father and I went home, ate some air-fried chicken, and napped. We woke up at 6pm, and our local version of Family Feud was on TV. We were supposed to go to the mall with Mother and have a haircut tonight, but perhaps we all got lazy. I hope we can have our haircut before we leave for our Cagayan trip this coming Saturday.

Speaking of Saturday, last Saturday, March 25, I was sad. Why? March 25, 2019, was the day I almost died, and March 25, 2022, was the day the drummer of my favorite band Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins, died. I’m supposed to write about what happened to me and a tribute to Taylor, but I’m too sad to even start a draft. Maybe next time.

And time’s up.

10-Minute Warning IX

OK. So, what can I type here in under 10 minutes?

Today is World Sleep Day, and I lack sleep. Isn’t that ironic? And I need to sleep early tonight because I will be joining a survey with Father tomorrow morning. This is the 1st time I will be working on a Saturday since… 2014, I think?

In my 1st and previous job, my work schedule is from 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. But there was this one time that I needed to work on a Saturday. That counted as overtime work. And the funny thing is that we worked beyond that overtime. I got paid well after that, but it was an exhausting experience.

Anyway, I’m so tired right now. And I tried to take a morning nap while I’m in the car with Mother and Father. (We were on our weekly visit to one of our clients’ offices.) But I can’t get that perfect nap. So I didn’t bother trying again by drinking a Cold Brew Malt from Starbucks Reserve. At least I got to drink one of my favorite non-alcoholic drinks and that extra caffeine boost.

I’ll just sleep early tonight. Tomorrow I’m going to work with Father in the morning, and then go to a gig in the evening. My younger brothers’ band will be performing.

Hey, that rhymed.

And time’s up.
