Song of the Moment XV: Foo Fighters’ “Exhausted”

Tonight, I don’t feel like telling a story as I feel tired physically and mentally. I’m sorry. Let me just quote and share one of Foo Fighters’ deep cuts – coming from the self-titled debut album that was released in 1995. Thank you, my all-time favorite band.

After the bliss has long ended
This caution, this fault
Give me a breeze that’s long-winded
Accosted, adult
Arrested

Happy weekend to all.

Song of the Moment XI: Puddles Pity Party’s “Helena” (A My Chemical Romance Cover)

Just when I thought My Chemical Romance’s “Helena” sounded depressing as is, Puddles Pity Party made it more melancholic with his calmer, slower cover. This is my favorite MCR cover ever.

To my loved ones, if ever I die soon, please play this cover and a Prince piano cover at my funeral.

That is all.

Song of the Moment VII: Foo Fighters’ “Everlong (Acoustic)”

Yesterday, January 14, 2024, was the 55th birthday of my number 1 hero, Dave Grohl of Nirvana and Foo Fighters. I wanted to pay tribute to my idol with a long post, but until now I’m still not done with it. I don’t want to rush it; I want my tribute post to be perfect, and I hope to finish it by this month.

In the meantime, let me share a video of Dave Grohl performing the acoustic version of arguably his magnum opus, “Everlong”. The video was originally aired on March 20, 2021, as part of Oates Song Fest 7908. It has 2 parts: (1) the songwriting process and (2) the performance itself. Skip to 6:56 if you want to check out the performance right away. It’s so breathtaking. I love the acoustic version as much as I love the original one.

Dave Grohl explains the songwriting process of Foo Fighters’ “Everlong” and then performs the acoustic version.

Happiest birthday, Dave Grohl! Thank you for cheering me up and saving me through your music. You will always be my ultimate hero!
