Song of the Moment LXXXVIII: Foo Fighters’ “Resolve”

Today, I did more work than usual. I even went into overtime. But I’m not complaining because a fire has lit inside of me since last weekend.

So, I opened tonight’s bout with 10+ repair proposals by wearing my earphones and playing my favorite songs playlist on Spotify. Each random song that played while I was working was energetic enough to fuel my fire, from Shinedown’s “DEVIL”, The Ting Tings’ “That’s Not My Name”, and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Can’t Stop”.

Upon reaching the final proposal for the night, my favorite song of all time, Foo Fighters’ “The Pretender”, played. I cried as I heard my beloved anthem and I typed the last few words and numbers because it’s like the universe is telling me to push one more time before I do my nightly rituals.

And when I started printing the last proposal, Spotify played another favorite Foo Fighters song of mine, “Resolve”. It’s from the band’s fifth studio album In Your Honor, and it was the perfect song to end overtime… and the perfect song to be my Song of the Moment.

I’m tempted to open a can of Jack & Coke Zero, but nope.

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

XXVI: A Peaceful Friday Lunch… Until Motörhead Played

Last Friday, after struggling at work, I had the most amazing Japanese lunch ever… and an almost embarrassing incident.

But before we talk about that, let me bring you back to Thursday.

10-Minute Warning CLXXVII

All right. What should I talk about today?

Well, I spent the morning feeling groggy but I powered through the work permits needed for approval today. If I did not have a heavy breakfast and an energizing cup of iced coffee before working, I would be freaking out and pissed off. With that, I did not eat that much during lunch, I took a cold bath to wake my senses, changed clothes, and then I went to the south to have said work permits approved. My Father slash boss offered to drive me there, by the way. Thank you, Father.

Upon arriving at the office, after traveling through 2 hours of traffic, I found out that the permits could only be submitted before lunchtime. A heavy sigh ensued. I felt so tired of everything after failing to submit it on time. I was so tired that after my Father and I went back home, I took a rare afternoon nap. Good grief.

I will definitely go back to that office tomorrow before lunchtime, and I hope everything will be approved during the day.

…and my 10 minutes is almost up. I’m still tired. See you in the next post.
