2026 is already memorable for me primarily because Netflix Philippines finally added my favorite show, Person of Interest, to its selection, and I have pushed through with a passion project after years of holding back: a series of episode reviews of the underrated sci-fi crime drama that I affectionately call Always Watching.
So far, I’ve written nine reviews, and I will reach the tenth this coming Wednesday, July 22, for the episode “Number Crunch.” I’m over the moon every time I pour my thoughts and feelings about the episode into every post. But honestly, as proud as I am of what I’ve written those thoughts and feelings, I can still improve the previous reviews’ episode breakdowns because most of them are either incomplete or too close to a detailed summary. I only figured out how to properly tackle the breakdowns in “Judgment” (e.g., introducing the case’s person of interest with The Number), and that part is not complete either. With my regained voice and confidence as a writer, I honestly can do better than that.
Which brings me to another dilemma…
Refining my previous analyses and reviewing nonstop until the series finale would be great, but with a crisis still ongoing, my growing responsibilities in my day job, and other goals that need my utmost attention, I can’t do that, unfortunately. No, I’m definitely not giving up on this passion project of mine, but to continue, I need time to refine the reviews while I deal with the overwhelming real life.
With that, like how “Number Crunch” became the last episode before Season 1’s midseason break, I’m taking a midseason break of my own for two weeks at minimum. Yes, I said at minimum because there’s a chance that when I finally refine the posts, real life will be more overwhelming for me. But if that doesn’t happen (and I truly hope it doesn’t), I think two weeks is enough.
So, yes, after “Number Crunch,” the upcoming review that goes live this Wednesday, July 22, the Always Watching review series will go on a two-week break until August 5. (Still subject to change until further notice.)
