I have been working on a new Listen post dedicated to a new favorite song (clue: it’s a new Foo Fighters song), but I’m setting that love letter aside momentarily. Why? I’m also mentally preparing for the Seoul trip with my family. Sure, the essentials have been assembled, and my flight attire is ready. But recently (I mean, tonight), I need to psych myself up for the upcoming trip through music, and that means a lot of K-pop.
Oh, yes… that’s a clue to what I listened to recently. With that, I kick off the second edition of The Recently (the newest blog series on The Diary), where I share what things I did recently (e.g., what I listened to, what I read).
Anyway, are you ready?
Recently, I watched…
“Wolf and Cub”, Season 1’s 14th episode of Person of Interest (my favorite show of all time).
I remember my first viewing of this episode because that’s when I began appreciating the sleek, badass cold-weather attire of John Reese: a fine tailored suit fitting for a silent, deadly assassin, plus a combination of a black wool/cashmere chesterfield coat and black leather gloves that reminds me of Bruce Wayne during the winter. The amazing cold-weather outfit of one of my favorite TV characters inspired one of the outfits I’m going to wear during the Seoul trip, and I’m pretty excited to channel my inner Reese soon.

Recently, I listened to…
“Gee” by Girls’ Generation.
If I’m not mistaken, I heard the bubblegum pop song “Gee” from the iconic K-pop group’s second studio album Oh!, and it’s a bonus track from there. (Correct me if I’m wrong.) This is my most listened-to Girls’ Generation song because of how hypnotic and catchy it is, and because my family and I will go to Seoul, it deserves to be on repeat again. After that, I’ll check out their other songs!
Recently, I drank…
The Angel’s Cup.
It’s the nickname I gave to the hot, heavenly honey/ginger/citron tea that I have been enjoying recently. I enjoy drinking it so much that I added it to my daily routine (particularly in the afternoon). And I’m drinking one as I type this.
Recently, I bought…
An Apple Watch Series 11.
Five years after using Mi Watch, I need an upgrade that fits perfectly with my iPhone 15. 24 hours after using the new watch, what I’ve been loving so far is the smooth UI flow, the watch face’s vast customization features, and the excellent sleep score. And for sure, I haven’t explored that much on the watch yet.
Frankly, after all that has happened recently, this purchase is the cherry on top. I deserve this.
And that concludes The Recently II!
See you in the next post.
