30-Minute Warning VIII

So, what can I say here in under 30 minutes?

I’m capping off a pretty eventful few days with a can of Jack Daniel’s and Coke and a viewing of episode 1 of Secret Invasion, the newest Marvel Cinematic Universe miniseries. I don’t usually drink a Jack and Coke on a Friday night, but this is a nice change of pace.

About the recent job interview and design test: I was able to submit the test mockups on time. And 30 minutes after I sent those, I got another scheduled interview on Monday, 9:00 am. If I remember correctly, it will be handled by a social media executive. Wish me luck!

Tonight, I’m supposed to go out and see my favorite busker at BGC, but I took a 2-hour nap and I woke up a bit late. Good thing there’s a live stream though, and as for seeing said busker live, there is always a next time.

What else? I gave my sole bottle of Jägermeister to Younger Brother so he can bring it to a potluck party. I think Youngest Brother will also go to the same party. And I can always buy another bottle just like how I can always buy another can of Jack and Coke. Have a nice party, my brothers!

Lastly, I have been to my favorite cafe Satchmi twice this week. I had a matcha latte last Tuesday, and then I had a BLT and iced chocolate last Thursday. Will I go there again tomorrow or on Sunday? I don’t know, but I don’t have to. Having a single hangout time there once a week is already enough.

And time’s up.

30-Minute Warning VII

Yesterday, I had my 1st job interview of 2023. After so many months of looking for a web/graphic design job opportunity, I finally got at least an interview. Hell yes! And looking back at my interview, I may have mumbled a few times, but I think it went well. I just hope it did.

During the interview, I learned that the job opportunity will have a mid-day shift or night shift. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but even if I’m nocturnal, I don’t want a night shift. I hope I get a mid-schedule. Pretty please, Lord. Please. And the job is just an FX ride away from home, which will be convenient for me.

After the interview, I was given 2 design tests. The 1st one is a homepage redesign (with desktop and mobile versions) and the 2nd is a social media ad design (Apple-themed with square and vertical sizes). The test deadline is tomorrow at 10am.

And guess what? I’m already done with the social media ad design. Since it is Apple-themed, I made a minimalist artwork with flat-lay images of a MacBook and an iPad and then the copy and a few logos. Why make it complicated, right?

As for the homepage mockups, I already have both desktop and mobile versions. But I’m worried that they may look for a mockup with dropdown menus – which I haven’t done and honestly, I don’t have enough time to prepare those. But basically, the default homepage mockups are done. I just hope those are already enough. Wish me luck?

10-Minute Warning XXXII

Today was very productive at work. I finished 4 billings before lunch time and did a few things an HR staff would do. Good job, self!

In the afternoon, someone reached out to me on LinkedIn. She was asking if I’m looking for a job opportunity as a web/graphic designer, and I said yes. I sent my resume and we agreed on a time for my job interview (which is tomorrow). This is my 1st job interview this 2023, and I’m nervous yet excited. Wish me luck!

Tonight, the entire family and I went to this lovely Italian restaurant to celebrate Father’s Day. I was not able to book a reservation before the actual Father’s Day (which was yesterday), so we settled for tonight. And how was the food? The pizza, pasta and steak were good! I think my favorite would be the Burrata & Culatello? (I hope I got that right.) And if I didn’t get anxious and I didn’t overthink in the middle of our dinner, I would have enjoyed the food more. Damn it, brain.

Anyway, belated happy dad’s day to all the fathers and father figures out there – most especially to my Father, who is the most hardest-working and strongest-willed person I have ever known. I love you, my dad… more than you know.
