XXIV: Full Circle III (The Diary’s 365th Entry)

I wrote in the previous post that I would make this post extra special because this is The Diary’s 365th entry. However, after several days of drafting and not being content with whatever I came up with, I gave up for a while.

Maybe I will do what I do best: write down what is currently in my mind and then take it from there. And while I’m at it, I’m opening an ice-cold can of Jack & Coke Zero.

What Happened To Me Lately?

What happened to me lately? Well, when it comes to work, it has been less stressful lately. It was still stressful, but this time I could handle it because I was already familiar with the tasks (one of them was working on billings). In fact, I will be glad to work a few extra hours this Saturday, even if I’m not required to. That’s how much I can handle the current stress.

Speaking of stress, I got two new pimples because of my current stress. I know that sounds like a shallow problem, but for me, it is. My past selves were proud of being pimple-free even when they were under pressure, so they would be so disappointed that I’m not that guy anymore. But then again, I should not stress about my skin predicament because it will only lead to more pimples. I should also see Dr. S, my dermatologist, again soon and ask for an update on my skincare routine. In the meantime, I should be more patient and continue the skincare routine that she has prescribed. Other than getting less than a handful of pimples in the past several months, my skincare routine is working well so far.

Foo Fighters Returning to Singapore On October 2025

Last Wednesday, May 14, my favorite band of all time, Foo Fighters, casually announced on their socials that they are performing on Day 2 of the 2025 Singapore Grand Prix, and many fans (including me) were ecstatic. Finally, they are back touring! Upon learning the good news, I reacted gladly on my Facebook timeline with a few crying emojis, and then Tito Aga told me this:

Book now. You will have free accommodation.

As I said, my favorite band of all time is Foo Fighters. The happiest moment of my life so far is seeing Dave Grohl and company rocking the Singapore National Stadium with their raw, heartfelt anthems, and I would love to experience it again this October. But even if Tito Aga covers my accommodation, pushing through my plans to see the Foos live seems possible because of my current financial situation, plus our family’s plan to go to Seoul in the same month.

I hate being broke. I need to find another job or two.

On a Movie Marathon… Sort of

Oh, man… I have watched a lot of movies lately because my Mother, Father, and Younger Brother are out of town. Last night, I watched Freaky Friday (starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis) and the first Final Destination movie. Last Thursday, I watched the fantasy rom-com Just Like Heaven (starring Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo), the Jim Carrey classic Liar Liar, and Baby Driver (now one of my favorite action films ever). Thank you, Netflix and Disney+.

Will I continue my movie marathon today? Probably. I don’t know.

On Reaching 365 Posts

Wow. Even if I have my bad days, even if I struggle to write at times, I have reached another full-circle milestone. This time, I made 365 posts on The Diary—a year’s worth of personal and literary posts, even if most of them are mundane. That’s something great for me, personally.

Somehow, my depressed self reared his ugly head lately. But also, somehow, reaching 365 entries here on The Diary inspires me to push for my other goals—including seeing the Foo Fighters again this October. If I have reached a year’s worth of content, then I can do anything. I should not give up. I must not give up.

Here’s to another year’s worth of content… and beyond.

Yes, he wears a mask sometimes. And according to most people, he looks like Bruno Mars when he is unmasked. Absolutely deranged, below-average writer.
