After several months of anticipation, Marvel Studios, Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman finally released the official teaser of Deadpool & Wolverine. What are my thoughts? Well…
(Spoiler warning if you have not seen the teaser and Deadpool 2.)
- I know the trailer only showed Wolverine’s shadow, but that only fueled my excitement for Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine. He is synonymous to the brutal mutant as Robert Downey Jr. is to Iron Man. Now he is back and he is going to be with my favorite Marvel character Deadpool.
- The new title Deadpool & Wolverine is cool, but I will miss the logotype of Deadpool 3 – the one with the first “o” being the Deadpool logo slashed with Wolverine’s claws (a clever way to show the number 3).
- The old cast is back! Vanessa, Peter, Blind Al, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Colossus (or at least a part of him), Yukio, and Dopinder celebrate Wade Wilson’s birthday… but where is Domino?
- I totally love the newer, brighter red suit for Deadpool. When I finally have the funds, I will buy a replica costume or at least a Deadpool half-shell mask. Mark my f’n words.
- The Time Variance Authority (TVA) (an organization that was introduced in the Loki series) will be involved in the movie. So, that is how they will connect Deadpool to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). But why are they approaching him? Is Wade’s meddling with time at the end of Deadpool 2 a problem for them? Or will they hire him to kill someone – perhaps the movie’s Big Bad?
- I usually get sad on July 26 because it is formerly an important date. So it makes me happy that Marvel Studios will release Deadpool & Wolverine on that date. Thank you, Marvel Studios.
And that’s it! Those are my thoughts on the official teaser. I’m looking forward to seeing the next and 1st R-rated film from the MCU.
Deadpool & Wolverine, in theaters July 26, 2024.
