Notes to Self XI

Hi! I’m The Deranged Writer and welcome to the 11th edition of Notes to Self – where I quote something important from any form of media or someone I know in real life.

In this edition, I’m quoting something an online friend told me 13 years ago.

Be open to meeting new friends, but keep the old ones.

Hannah V. (2010)

This quote will not be popular among many people. Why? A normal person should forget the people who have forgotten him/her. But I’m deranged, so no, I don’t move on easily.

As I said in a previous post: “Sometimes I keep looking for the people who are not with me anymore while there are so many people who are still with me and love me.” I still want to patch things up with some of the people I lost, but I’m also open to meeting new people and I truly appreciate the ones who stayed in my life. I’m just wired that way.

However, that does not mean I’m open to patching up with every loved one I lost. I also learned how to move on from several people. I learned that not everyone is worth keeping; only the ones who matter the most.

Thank you, Hannah, my friend. I will always keep your quote in mind.

And that concludes the final Notes to Self of 2023! Do you have any quotes I should remember? If you have any, hit up the comments section below, my socials (FacebookInstagram, and X [formerly Twitter]), or through email at therealderangedwriter@gmail.com.

Yes, he wears a mask sometimes. And according to most people, he looks like Bruno Mars when he is unmasked. Absolutely deranged, below-average writer.
