I: Another Pilot

Soundtrack: The Rolling Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”

Have you ever did something completely stupid that you beat your mind up the whole day that you forgot to eat on time and and you also forgot two very important life lesson?

That’s what happened to me today.

I have been been blogging for a very long time now; most of my years I have spent here on WordPress.com. And recently I have enabled the site’s Two-Step Authentication feature, where I have to print this authentication key and backup codes for extra security. And guess what? I misplaced the codes.

The most paranoid motherfucker out there misplaced his damned codes. Why, Deranged Writer? Why?

Now my dear WorPress blog that has my constant username, “derangedwriter” is gone. Not technically gone, but I cannot use it any longer unless I ask for a recovery request… and that request requires the same authentication key that I lost. How stupid can I get?

I love my pen name and username so much that I want to own every ocial media account out there with “derangedwriter” (damn you, deviantART user who already got it). But as Sir Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones say, “you can’t always get what you want.” I wish I am a god, but I am not; I can’t control everything.

But did Sir Jagger also sang on those same lines, “but if you try sometimes well you might find what you need”? Oh, yes, he did. And that is exactly what I’m doing now: instead of spend all day and wasting my energy trying to recover the old, I used my time and energy to built a new blog. And today I swear I will make it a better blog than any blogs I have made before.

Here is to another beginning. Here is to the new Dispatch.

    1. That’s weird. I already added a Follow button on the sidebar, below the search bar. You should be able to see it now. The button is pretty tiny though.

      1. We’re talking way too much about a button. 😁 But wait. Are you reading my blog on your desktop or mobile phone? If you are viewing it on mobile, you might have to click the hamburger menu button (button with the three lines on top of the header) in order to see the follow button. Sorry for the inconvenience, BTW.
